“It’s all set now for the Kasadyahan Festival 2014 and 32nd Foundation Anniversary in Aleosan, North Cotabato on April 3 to 5”, tourism officer Cristopher Trance said.

Trance said this year’s Kasadyahan Festival offers more exciting events, adding that it will uncover Aleosan’s newest weekend destination: The UK Peak.He described the UK peak, which refers to Upper Mingading-Katalicanan Peak, as a perfect viewdeck for those who want to have a 360-degree view of the province.

“UK peak has remained a under explored for years. But this year’s festival will be the venue of some of our activities. Hence, tourists and even local residents will have an opportunity to have a glimpse of a vast uninterrupted natural landscape beauty towards the sprawling Liguasan Marsh and Mt. Apo,” Trance boasted.

On April 4 morning, the network road leading to UK peak will be part of the Mountain Bike Challenge that will start at San Mateo and back.

While on the afternoon of the same day, the Kite Making and Flying Competition will be held right at the peak, which is about three kilometers away from the town proper. The kite competition is in coordination with the Kite Association of the Philippines (KAP). A kite workshop for kids will also be held prior to the competition proper.

Trance further said that UK peak is a perfect spot for a weekend family picnic and backpacking.

He added that the local government is eyeing to put up a resting area for tourists. The resting area may include a restaurant that will offer native dishes and even a mini-bar for those who want to unwind on weekends.

Moreover, other major activities for this year’s Kasadyahan Festival are: Lechon Manok: Best Taste , Motocross, Bb. Aleosan, Paboksing sa Masa and Sinadya sa Kalsada: A Street Dancing.
