Located in Barangay San Mateo, Rosita’s Pond Resort is a fishing village that offers organically-fed tilapia, hito and haluan.
How to get here: This is just about 300 meters away from the national highway. There is a narrow road beside Aleosan Central Elementary School that leads to this resort.
Upper Mingading-Katalicanan (UK) Peak is part of the mountain range on the eastern part of Aleosan. This is a strategic point, where you can have a 360-degree view of North Cotabato including the sprawling Liguasan Marsh.
The site is a perfect site for family picnic, camping, mountain biking and kite flying.
How to get here: From San Mateo, take a motorcycle for just P20 per person going to UK peak, which is about three kilometers away from the town proper. This is located near the military communication facility.
Try the local cuisines like this one: tinolang native chicken with kadyos. This is available in some local carenderias. If you want a more exciting experience, contact the Tourism Office to take you to a village that serves authentic Ilonggo cuisine.
Kadyos (Pigeon peas or Cajanus cajan) is popular among Ilonggos. Many of the farmers in Aleosan grow kadyos and it is always available at the public market for P20 per pack.
Beat the summer heat and take a dip at Malitubog River in Barangay Lawili.
